Partnerships

Canadian Hockey League

Talk Today has been a support to Canadian Hockey League players since the program was originally developed in collaboration with the Ontario Hockey League in 2014. Talk Today expanded in subsequent seasons to the Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to provide support to the entire CHL.

Canadian Junior Hockey League

Following the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus accident in 2018, the National Hockey League Foundation and Fifth Line Foundation partnered to bring Talk Today to the Canadian Junior Hockey League to establish mental health supports for Jr. A hockey players. Talk Today began in select CJHL member leagues in 2019 and has been established in eight CJHL member leagues since 2022.

Taekwondo Canada

In June 2023, Taekwondo Canada and CMHA Ontario announced a new partnership to pilot Talk Today, making Taekwondo Canada the first national sport organization to pilot the program. As part of this partnership, Black Belt World in Vaughan, Ont. is working with their local CMHA, York Region South Simcoe branch, to deliver mental health and suicide prevention training to their athletes, along with support from a local CMHA mental health coach.
